SmartCells, Inc. is developing a breakthrough treatment for diabetes called SmartInsulin(TM). SmartInsulin(TM) is a self-regulating form of insulin delivery that doses itself in response to blood glucose levels without the need for pumps, sensors, or membranes. It provides tight glycemic control in diabetics and minimizes the likelihood of hypoglycemia.

Laboratory Assistant
Responsibilities
The Laboratory Assistant will work in a fast-paced startup environment, working on multiple tasks to enable the team to meet critical timelines. Key responsibilities will include:
· Synthesis and filtration of reaction buffers, HPLC buffers, and laboratory solutions
o Document buffer synthesis tasks
· Ensure sterility/endotoxin testing of formulations
· Cleanup and organization of laboratory glassware
· Preparation of separation columns for laboratory use
· Inventory of laboratory supplies
· Laboratory organization duties
Qualifications
The successful candidate will meet the following qualifications:
· Familiarity with making buffers and reagent solutions.
· At least one year of experience in the biological, chemical or pharmaceutical industries.
· Experience working in a research laboratory environment
