Under minimal supervision, the Senior Proposal Developer is responsible for activities related to managing the flow of information throughout the proposal development/RFP process including, contract interpretation, data analysis/research, budgeting for both domestic and international projects. Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, project managers, and Averion management.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Information coordination: • Review client materials/Request for Proposals • Perform appropriate client indication and therapeutic area research • Prepare and Review the narratives and the budgets for consistency / accuracy • Recommend proposal and study conduct strategy • Maintain proposal status in automated tracking system • Maintain proposal files • Prepare correspondence related to proposals and contacts, including MSA/CDAs, proposals, work assignments, change orders, cover/award letters • Present and Negotiate deliverables (budget, cost tables, and proposal text) • Prepare and discuss Confidentiality, Master Service Agreements, and Amendments • Interact with Senior Management/Executives on Proposal development
Project contracts: - Review MSA, contractual assumptions, budget information and project data. - Prepare variance reports compared with contracts. - Collect out of scope information. - Prepare contract amendments / change orders. - Identify and communicate contract / project issues.
Project Management Interaction: - Review project contract status with Project Managers. - Follow up on contract / project issues with Project Managers. - Participate in project status meetings. - Participate in project hand-off meetings.
Client Interaction: - Prepare, present and discuss / negotiate proposals, MSAs, work assignments, and change orders with client and Averion management. - Follow up on outstanding proposals, work assignment, and change orders with client.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities: Assist the Associate Director, Proposal Development as required.

Education and/or Experience: BA / BS in business or scientific discipline. Minimum 2 year experience, including some industry experience in proposal development, clinical or medical affairs, financial project management or related position, including experience in contract preparation/interpretation, negotiations, and follow up, assessing revenue recognition, analyzing data for consistency and trends.
Other Skills and Abilities: Must have a good knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. Must be: accurate, detail oriented; well organized; able to prioritize tasks; able to take direction; able to work independently. Must have: strong analytical skills, knowledge of company's services, pricing practices and corporate philosophy. Effective time management skills, decision making, interpersonal, presentation and organization skills. Must have the ability to: understand project scope and the individual project components; develop an understanding of clinical trials; develop study metrics; maintain confidentiality of all project and finance information. Must be able to work independently and as part of a team. Professional appearance and presentation required. Occasional travel may be necessary.
Preferred Qualifications Industry experience, and experience working collaboratively with internal and external customers.
