Senior Research Associate/Associate Scientist Molecular Biology
Responsibilities:
We are looking to attract a highly skilled and motivated hands-on researcher for a position within the molecular biology research group. The appointed candidate will adapt and develop in vitro assays, and create novel reagents in support of vaccine discovery and development activities. These investigations involve use of molecular biology techniques, flow cytometry, IHC, ELISA, biochemical assay as well as bacteria, yeast and mammalian expression systems. The successful candidate is expected to conduct laboratory experiments with minimal supervision, perform data analysis, propose and conduct follow-on experiments. An ability to adapt procedures from the literature and rapidly learn and implement new methods with high reproducibly is desirable. It is essential that the candidate has proven communication skills, be comfortable presenting his/her work at internal meetings, and contribute to a dynamic work environment where teamwork is essential.
Qualifications:
Experience with recombinant protein expression, a minimum of 2 years of mammalian cell culture experience are required, as are strong computer, data management and documentation skills. Bachelors degree in scientific discipline with at least 4 to 6 years of relevant molecular biology or assay development experience, or a recent Ph.D. in the biological sciences (biochemistry, cell or molecular biology).
