Position Overview
The Director of Business Development is responsible for sourcing, securing and maintaining current and new business relationships in support of meeting and maintaining corporate sales goals. This individual works closely with global project teams to develop and provide proposals addressing client-program requirements on-time and within budget.
Duties/Responsibilities
• Achieve assigned corporate revenue and sales targets.
• Develop and implement an effective marketing plan to increase brand awareness.
• Prepare and deliver effective sales presentations articulating the features, benefits and efficiencies available through Clinquest's product offerings.
• Capably negotiate pricing and contract requirements with new and established clients.
• Retain existing clientele and look for new opportunities for increased project revenue.
• Create strong client loyalty through trust, credibility and reliability.
• Provide excellent customer service and support.
• Serves as primary contact with clients (initially) to ensure accurate communication and appropriate expectations relative to project deliverables.
• Manage sales documentation associated with the business cycle: proposals, service agreements, confidentiality agreements, etc.
• Assist in the development of project plans and budgets for complex service programs in conjunction with global project teams.
• Perform post-sale follow-up, providing appropriate feedback to both clients and internal project teams to maintain customer satisfaction and secure future revenue.
• Provide sales forecasts, activity reports and monthly/quarterly business reviews.
• Represent Clinquest in a professional manner at regional, national and international conferences/symposia.
• May contribute toward project performance tracking and resource management.
• May perform other duties and responsibilities as required.
Position Qualifications
- 5-7 years experience in selling clinical trial implementation, drug safety-
pharmacovigilance/medical information and/or CRO services
- Bachelor or Master's degree in business administration, biology, biochemistry, pharmacy or
related scientific discipline
- MBA preferred, though not essential
- Familiar with drug development processes in the bio/pharmaceutical industry with
knowledge in ICH/GCP guidelines, FDA regulations and compliance.
- Ability to simultaneously manage multiple client needs and requirements along with a
commitment to providing high quality deliverables.
