MOMENTA PHARMACEUTICALS, INC. is a leader in applying breakthroughs in analytical technologies to understanding the biology and chemistry of complex therapeutics. A public company (Nasdaq:MNTA) founded out of MIT in 2001, Momenta currently has two products under review at the FDA, a third in Phase 2 clinical trials, and a several ongoing preclinical projects. We are expanding our business development department, and seek experienced, mature candidates to provide strategic, scientific and business input to help shape our future growth.

Reporting to the Vice President, Corporate Development, this position will support ongoing strategic planning and business development activities. This key individual will be tasked with executing both in-licensing initiatives and strategic partnering for internal programs. These responsibilities require the ability to think critically and analytically and utilize appropriate financial modeling methodologies to evaluate in- and out-licensing opportunities. The responsibilities also include the assessment of specific partnering opportunities, market assessments, and benchmark transactions. In order to coordinate due diligence teams the successful candidate must possess the ability to lead cross functional teams effectively. In addition to specific partnering projects, the role will also support the development and analysis of overall corporate strategy projects and long-term strategy development.

Requirements:
• 5 to 7 years in biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry or related work in consulting, banking, or venture capital; may include a mix of two or more roles in business development, licensing, marketing, sales, market research, finance, or strategic planning
• Strong communication, analytical thinking an presentation skills
• Comfort working with technical data and colleagues; a basic understanding of the process of drug development, from research and discovery through clinical trials and licensing approval;
• Experience reading and interpreting collaboration and licensing contracts
• Solid financial analysis capabilities and experience with deal valuation methodologies
• Familiarity with patents and intellectual property a plus
• Organized work style, attentive to detail, able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
