Primera DX was formed in 2005 based on a technology that will provide multiplexed quantitative results enabling improve patient management and reducing overall healthcare costs in areas of infectious disease and oncology. Primera's novel assays and instrument systems, based on our proprietary STAR technology (Scalable Target Analysis Routine), will enable simultaneous quantitative measurement of up to 60 genes in a single assay, while maintaining the necessary sensitivity, accuracy and specificity. The STAR platform is already enabling scientists and physicians to realize the economic and healthcare benefits associated with quantitative multiplexing in viral load monitoring, fungal pathogen screening and drug resistance monitoring.

The company has recently introduced its first product, a 5-virus panel for immune compromised patients. A second panel for fungal infections is under development. The company intends to extent its product line with assays for diagnosis, prognosis, staging and therapeutic monitoring in cancer. All tests will run on the proprietary ICE instrument that will be launched in late 2008.
