Sr Project Planner, Bulk Manufacturing
Job Description
1. Develop and maintain model for setting of annual budget targets for Cambridge Manufacturing; includes supporting reforecasting efforts on quarterly basis; work as liason to Finance group.
2. Develop Cambridge MFG portion of Biogen Idec 4-year plan; work as liason to Operations Planning group.
3. Assess plant capacity from resource perspective, including equipment, FTE, and space. Develop and maintain accurate activity-based FTE resource forecasting model against 4-year plan.
4. Develop, manage, and drive project timelines for all activities required to manufacture commercial and clinical material on one platform (Trains 4/5). Create, manage, and drive Facility Readiness schedules which include projects such as: equipment modifications, validation, change in/out, documentation, training, testing, and routine/ non-routine facilities maintenance projects. Establish and manage project timelines and milestones, resources, and headcount within generally defined guidelines by identifying goals, tracking progress, and re-forecasting as necessary in conjunction with department and program team liaison. Act as internal and external liaison for projects. Play role of project champion and drive issue resolution for program success. Compile, analyze and report project status to team, senior management, and program management. Ensure all critical parties are aware of project activity, issues and contingencies. Conduct lessons learned analysis at conclusion of projects.
5. Identify material demands and establish program success rates. Identify process, equipment, and headcount bottlenecks with proposals for proactive capacity maximization. Identify issues which could impede program success and require evaluation of identifiable factors. Design feasible contingency plans to resolve the issues with regards to impact on timelines, resources, budget, and headcount.
6. Build cohesive Cambridge Planning Group with clear roles and responsibilities, goals, and deliverables. Guide direct reports (Project Manager charged with Trains 1/2/3, UF/DF operations, fills, and packaging and Scheduler for daily production schedules and modeling new products in Infor) in goal creation/ alignment/ attainment, knowledge and skill enhancement.
7. Manage relationship and contracts with scheduling software vendor. Budget annual consulting needs, schedule consulting time with vendor. Create vision of software application in Cambridge site. Facilitate alignment of best practices with RTP users.
8.Provide monthly commercial metrics and quarterly global metrics that accurately reflect facility performance. Develop metrics throughout organization that lead to informed decision making to improve run rates, success rates, change over times, resource usage, material use, and other areas.

•3+ yrs project management experience in area of technical development/ manufacturing/ product development
Education
•Minimum BS in biochemical, chemical, or biological-related area/ business planning degree
•PMP-certified preferred
