FORMA Therapeutics Inc. is currently seeking to recruit several highly motivated, talented synthetic chemists to our recently opened laboratories in Cambridge, MA. These unique positions require individuals with an exceptional grasp of state of the art synthetic chemistry technique and a strong interest in asymmetric organic synthesis and drug design. The chemist will employ their knowledge of organic chemistry to design, realize and optimize challenging synthetic pathways toward collections of biologically relevant structurally diverse small molecules. They will also provide medicinal chemistry support to our proprietary drug discovery platform with the design and execution of the synthesis of therapeutically targeted small molecules. Excellent written and oral communication skills are required, as is the desire and ability to work in a multidisciplinary, laboratory focused environment and contribute to team-based decisions.

Typical Responsibilities

• Independently conduct cutting edge research in the
synthesis of stereochemically and skeletally
diverse and complex small molecules, helping to
define the overall strategy and experimental
design.

• Design, synthesize, purify and characterize small
molecules directed toward the modulation of
selected therapeutic targets as part of a
multidisciplinary drug discovery team.

• Analyze research data to identify and evaluate
problems and determine appropriate solutions
utilizing an array of analytical techniques.

Qualifications
• PhD in organic chemistry.
• 2-5 years of directly related experience.
• Scientific expertise in analytical, synthetic and
mechanistic organic chemistry, including extensive
experience with modern analytical and purification
methods and an ability to search and utilize the
chemical literature.
