Description
We are looking for an experienced histologist/histotechnologist to join the in vivo pharmacology group in the oncology therapeutic area. The incumbent will set up an histology laboratory and perform processing, embedding, sectioning and staining of tumor and tissue samples from rodent models of oncology, including subcutaneous and orthotopic xenograft and isograft experiments. Histological data will be used to support PK/PD and efficacy studies involving small molecules and biotherapeutics for drug discovery and pre-clinical development in oncology.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess a B.S. or M.S. and several years of experience as an histologist. Knowledge of processing, embedding, sectioning and staining of fixed and frozen rodent and tumor tissues is absolutely required. Experience with rodent necropsy, harvesting of tumors from rodents, immunohistochemistry, and maintaining a laboratory notebook is preferred but not mandatory. The candidate should be able to work independently but also function well in a team setting. Good communication skills and command of the English language are required. Self-motivational and organizational skills are mandatory.
