The Program Administrator III will manage and oversee the day-to-day administrative operations of the Center for Molecular Oncologic Pathology (CMOP), including supervision of administrative personnel, financial management, and space planning. He/she will develop and manage an annual operating budget of approximately $1-2 Million, and will work with Department staff to oversee and coordinate all CMOP and non-CMOP grants for the Center Faculty Leader, including providing regular financial reports.

The Program Administrator will help to plan and implement new initiatives, and will provide project management support, assisting the Faculty Leader to develop any necessary reports and presentations. He/she will also work with the Centers Scientific Associate Director to coordinate activities that promote scientific and intellectual interactions, and will help to identify, coordinate, and manage new business development opportunities with external collaborators.

Requirements:

Bachelors degree required, advanced degree preferred. Minimum of 3 years business management experience in a scientific or health care setting with demonstrated management experience (including financial and personnel). A proven ability to develop and manage annual budgets of $1-5 million, with an understanding of grants management process. Strong quantitative, analytic, problem-solving, organizational project management, leadership, communication, and customer-service skills required. Ability to work independently, manage teams of administrative and technical personnel, implement changes, and set priorities is highly desired. Business development experience and scientific background/understanding of research environment is helpful, but not required.
