The Process Science & Production group at Novartis Biologics is seeking a highly-motivated Ph.D. scientist with relevant experience to establish and lead the Expression & Fermentation group in Cambridge, MA.

The Lab Head will plan and guide the expression system and process development of therapeutic proteins foreseen for clinical studies or commercial use.

Expertise in microbial based protein expression and fermentation is highly desirable in addition to monoclonal antibody expression and cell culture process development.

Represents his/her working field in cross-functional project teams.

Lab head will be able to work independently, build/manage a team and organize research programs, but also able to take scientific direction from Unit Head and Novartis project leaders.

Lab Head is expected to be very collaborative and will be able to effectively represent Protein Production group on assigned Novartis Project Teams.

A Ph.D. in Pharmacy, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering or related life science field with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the biotechnology industry.
