The Percivia PER.C6® Development Center develops the PER.C6® human cell line for recombinant proteins.  PERCIVIA offers an integrated technology platform for protein production and provides customers a hands-on experience of the PER.C6® technology.  The PER.C6® platform encompasses cell line generation technology, cell culture development, and downstream processes, design, scale-up, technology transfer, and regulatory support.  High yields in combination with the fully human glycosylation properties, make the PER.C6 cell line an attractive platform for the production of proteins, including monoclonal antibodies.

Job Summary

We are seeking highly motivated individuals with expertise in mammalian cell culture. The successful candidate will have cell culture and cell line development experience preferably in an industrial setting. The candidate must be a team player and able to work effectively with Cell Line Development group as well as the Upstream and Downstream Processing groups. Excellentcommunication skills and a proven track record of productivity are essential.

Responsibilities include

• Basic mammalian cell culture, plasmid transfection, clone selection and subcloning.  
• Optimization of transfection, growth and selection conditions
• Generation and characterization of stably transfected cell lines expressing protein candidates by various techniques such as PCR, ELISA, SDS-PAGE, and western blotting.
• Investigation of methods to streamline cell line generation
• Maintain and organize notebook
• Proficiency in MS Office applications and software programs for quantitative analysis and sequence analysis, and strong record-keeping skills are required.
• Assist with the management of the research laboratory including inventory control, equipment maintenance, supply management, and general care for the laboratory environment.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a B.S. or M.S. in Biology or related field, with preferably a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in industry.
