The Biogen Idec Digital Communications Team (DCT) is seeking a motivated, engaging operations manager to lead its growing portfolio of digital communications for the US Market. The candidate will be responsible for the successful planning, management, tracking, and delivery of a wide array of digital communications, including Web sites and applications, mobile applications, online marketing, internal knowledge management applications, and more. S/he will also serve as the team’s primary point of contact for all project stakeholders, including business owners, business analysts, offshore development teams, and product/service vendors.

Requirements:
- Assume responsibility for managing multiple projects of moderate to high complexity
- Manage the ongoing activities of a team of internal and external development professionals
- Work closely with Business Information Managers to understand scope, requirements, constraints, timing, etc.
for all incoming work
- Drive and manage full project life cycles while negotiating, defining, communicating and managing scope
- Lead kickoff meetings for each project, as well as regular status meetings meeting with full extended team
- Establish and maintain ongoing communications with BIIB technical community to keep them apprised of team
updates, changes, and relevant new initiatives

Qualifications:
- 7+ years' experience managing multiple projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Capabilities
- Proven history of successful project management
- In-Depth knowledge of project management practices. PMI or equivalent certification a plus
- Outstanding communication skills
- A passionate focus on attention to detail
- Fluency with the fundamentals of building and deploying digital communications. Proven knowledge of online
development techniques and processes a strong plus
- Experience working with outsourced/offshore development teams a plus
- Highly flexible thinking; ability to maintain equilibrium in a dynamic, shifting work environment
- Ability to think and act independently
- Highly collegial, collaborative attitude and work style
- Knowledge of Agile development methods a plus
