Program Manager
Summary: The Program Manager is responsible for the management of all daily program activities for one or more of AMAG’s clinical programs. He/she will work closely with Program Leaders to serve as champions for assigned programs, to manage critical path activities / risks and assist in the development of contingency plans. S/he is responsible for managing overall project planning, cross-functional program meetings, and helping teams navigate AMAG’s decision-making and governance processes.
Responsibilities: To include but not limited to the following:
Manage high performing cross-functional teams, focusing on both strategy and execution of development plans.
Maintain highly motivated teams and serve as a program champion and advocate.
Proactively identify potential problems and work with teams to develop recommendations for their solution.
Navigate team to gain buy-in of governance committee(s) on program strategy and ensure implementation of decisions.
Constructively manage conflict and issue resolution within team.
Complete critical path analyses including the evaluation of potential means to accelerate the pace or mitigate identified risks. Manage the team to recommend revised strategies as appropriate.
Manage team meetings including the preparation of appropriate agendas and documentation of meeting minutes.
Generate program status updates and program review communications/
Create and manage an integrated timeline for the program. Work with team to maintain the timeline as current.
Excel in a matrix environment and function effectively in the context of ambiguity.
Education/Training/Experience
Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline with additional years in relevant industry/role experience will be considered.
5-7 years of experience in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry.
3+ years experience managing multi-disciplinary development teams in various stages of drug development (ideally Phase 1 through Launch).
Experience in applying Program Management principles and practices (Portfolio dashboard, RACI, multi-scenario based recommendations).
Strong interpersonal, organizational, planning, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently with flexibility to handle work flow in a multi-tasking environment.
