Patient Advocacy and Communications Consultant
Verastem is looking for a Patient Advocacy and Communications consultant to develop a mesothelioma cancer awareness/education campaign to support our registration-directed clinical trial and accelerate patient recruitment. This is a great opportunity to get in on the ground floor, and help us design and Implement an external and internal communications program incorporating the patient voice.
Scope of work:
–Represent a patient-centric voice in company strategy, communications and operations to ensure the patient perspective is considered
–Serve as key relationship manager with patient advocacy leaders and patients: US & Global
–Advise on compliance and legal requirements within patient and clinical external communications
–Identify opportunities to engage & align with advocacy and support groups
–Develop and implement the company social media plan and website –Develop disease awareness campaign for mesothelioma
–Accelerate patient recruitment into trials
–Support conference activities and outreach to key opinion leaders
–Serve as company liaison for patient/family inquiries
–Support public relations outreach and communications
–Advise on corporate and trial branding
–Organize/prioritize charitable giving requests
–Coordinate patient community outreach campaign and events
Expertise in oncology patient advocacy landscape
Minimum 5 years recent experience in advocacy strategy /relationship management
- Medical science liaison/account manager in oncology
- Clinical practitioner
- Communications professional in biotech/pharma or patient-centric consulting firm
- Rare diseases
Availability to work on- site 2 days/week, attend monthly communication strategy sessions and general accessibility by phone or email daily/as necessary –Periodic travel to patient and medical conferences and events.
