Analyst - Mass Spectrometry
Blue Stream Laboratories (BSL), a fast-growing biochemical/analytical CRO, seeks a creative, highly-motivated individual who is ready for an exciting, entrepreneurial workplace, and who wants to contribute to a dynamic, success-driven team.
The main role of the laboratory Analyst is to initially perform sample preparation and analysis of clinical samples to identify and quantify biomolecules in complex matrices. Analysis is performed using a combination of manual and semi-automated techniques according to standard operating procedures, which involve the use of mass spectrometry. The opportunity to grow and learn other mass spectrometric techniques employed for the characterization of proteins and peptides will be provided.
This position is ideal for a person that would like to work with routine laboratory analysis in a smaller, team-based environment with opportunity for long-term growth. Qualified candidates must be detail oriented, possess great organizational and communication skills, and be able to work outside of scheduled hours, when necessary. The candidate must demonstrate ability to participate in ongoing evaluation and improvement of the analytical methods.
Some of the relevant techniques include:
- Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS/MS)
- Solid-Phase Extraction
- Reverse-phase HPLC
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry or similar field.
Experience: Candidates with 2-5 years’ experience in using mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) in an analytical laboratory setting (GLP/GMP) are preferred.
Teamwork: This individual will work closely with other team members to ensure analysis is completed within stated turnaround times and meet the highest quality standards.
