Scientific Investigator - Part Time
Scientific Investigator, Part Time Contractor
Job Code: 13TP-06
Location Cambridge, MA
H3 Biomedicine, an oncology biotechnology company in the Cambridge area, is seeking a part-time Scientific Investigator to assist in the validation of novel oncology drug targets.
The scientist will work with the Target Discovery & Genomics group to prioritize candidate drug targets identified by bioinformatic analysis of cancer genomics. Responsibilities will include generation and phenotypic screening of cell lines with inducible cDNA and shRNA. Phenotypic assay development customized to areas under investigation (such as 3D growth, oxygen radical generation, invasion, etc.) will require creativity and independence. siRNA screening will be used to assess synthetic lethality with tumor suppressors and oncogenes of high interest. Generation and exonic sequencing of drug resistant cell lines will help identify resistance mechanisms and additional target candidates.
Work schedule is flexible, approximately ~20 hours per week, for 3-6 months
Ph.D. in biological sciences with experience in cell culture, mammalian cDNA & shRNA expression systems, western blotting, qPCR, and microscopy required. Familiarity with high content imaging, image quantification, liquid handling instrumentation, compound profiling, lentivirus, and subcloning is desirable.
