Scientist, Cancer Immunology
The successful candidate will be responsible for the discovery and testing of novel cancer immunotherapeutic candidates. Responsibilities include designing and conducting experiments aimed at immunomodulation of leukocyte responses in vitro - in particular development of cellular assays including primary cell-based assays and ex vivo analyses involving complex flow based analyses - as well as in vivo model systems to assess efficacy and mechanism of action of candidate therapeutics. In addition, the candidate will help train and work closely with research associates, and will be responsible for analyzing data and presenting results in a group setting. Additional responsibilities include keeping abreast of new developments in the scientific literature and proposing creative solutions to experimental problems.
The applicant must have a PhD or MD in Immunology or a related field with 2+ years of postdoctoral experience in an academic or industrial setting. Special consideration will be given to those individuals with experience in cancer immunotherapy. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience with the following skills: flow cytometry and immunological phenotyping, isolation and manipulation of human blood and blood components, in vitro T cell functional assays and in vivo mouse model systems. Research experience in the TNF superfamily and/or tumor microenvironment will be favorably considered. The candidate must be detail-oriented, reliable and conscientious, with excellent organizational skills and oral and written communication skills. He or she must be capable of contributing independently and able to thrive in a highly collaborative, fast-paced, team-oriented environment with colleagues from diverse disciplines.
