Merrimack Pharmaceuticals is a biopharmaceutical company discovering, developing and preparing to commercialize innovative medicines paired with companion diagnostics for the treatment of serious diseases, with an initial focus on cancer. Merrimack currently has six targeted therapeutic oncology candidates in clinical development. 


Merrimack Healthcare Solutions (MHS) is the commercial arm of Merrimack Pharmaceuticals.  The name of the division reflects our vision to engage with stakeholders in innovative and authentic ways to strengthen their understanding of Merrimack’s science and to demonstrate the clinical and economic value of integrated medicines to society. 


We are seeking a talented Field Operations individual to join the growing MHS team as we launch the company’s first product, MM-398.  The ideal candidate has a strong analytical background and excellent interpersonal skills.  Job responsibilities will evolve as the organization grows.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with relevant team members to ensure field force has best-in-class information resources to meet business objectives
  • Define territory and regional business review process in partnership with regional management, incorporating key data points from customer experience dataset, business intelligence dashboards, and account management key performance indicators
  • Lead targeting initiative in accordance with field strategy and influence mapping output; define process by which targets are identified and communicated to the field force
  • Lead field sizing and alignment effort to define scope of company’s first field force; outline key performance indicators to measure and monitor targeting, sizing and alignment performance
  • Define fleet strategy and manage selected vendor
  • Define credentialing process and manage selected vendors
  • Collaborate with Training and Development to determine best means to train field force on tools, methods, and processes
  • Partner closely with other MHS team members on key initiatives as requested
  • Collaborate with regional management on an ongoing basis to identify areas of improved efficiency
  • Serve as a role model for compliant behavior that is consistent with the mission, vision and values of the organization
  • Other duties as required


  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Relevant industry or consulting experience required
  • Experience using analytics to identify insights and foster culture of continuous improvement
  • Creative and strategic thinker
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and complete those projects on time while effectively demonstrating the ability to influence others and accomplish goals within a team environment
  • Experience in managing vendor relationships
  • Prior experience managing entry- and mid-level employees
  • Domestic travel required
  • Strong commitment to business ethics
  • Passion for fighting cancer
