Position Summary:

This position will be responsible for supporting Cubist’s corporate network and telecommunications infrastructure. This includes local and wide area networks, voice, voice messaging, wireless systems and services. This position will be responsible for routine installations, moves, changes, and operational escalations as well as on call support for Cubist’s production networks and telecommunications systems and services. Under the guidance of the Global Senior Network and Security engineer, this position will be responsible for implementing and maintaining new and updated technologies, products and services in support of Cubist’s Building Blocks of growth and maintenance of the company’s network and telecommunications product and service roadmaps. This position will work in conjunction with peers at other Cubist sites as well as external channel and service providers worldwide to ensure consistent quality of service as well as uptime and availability of all network and telecommunications services.


Minimum Basic Qualifications:

  • 2-4 year degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications Sciences, or related discipline
  • 3-5 years direct experience as a network / telecommunications technician, preferably in life sciences and with experience managing SaaS, hosted, and or outsourced service providers
  • Experience in managing technical projects and working with industry standard project management tools, global and/or international experience desirable


Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

  • Industry standard certifications desired in networking (CCNA, CCNP, equivalents)
  • Experience in the use of industry standard network / telecommunications management products and tools
  • Experience in a dynamic, growth oriented environment with rapidly changing priorities

  • Demonstrated track record of effective communications across an organization in the delivery of products, services, and support

Work Environment:

  • Rapidly growing, technically demanding real time operational IT work environment
  • Rapidly changing service delivery model (managing partners to success – SaaS, PaaS, Iaas, hosting, telecom providers)
  • Rapidly expanding service delivery territory, including national and international locations and vendors
  • Small team (5) dynamic, highly shared works streams, shared responsibilities


Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift 50-75 pounds, IT equipment
  • Must be able to work in a data center environment, including receiving, unpacking, bench testing, racking and installing IT hardware (switches, controllers, servers, IT appliances, etc.)
