H3 Biomedicine is looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Research Associate 3+ years of Experience in analytical chemistry will perform high through-put purification of diversity based compound libraries using mass-directed purification platforms and provide custom chiral/achiral separation for medicinal chemistry. The candidate will also participate in other analytical activities including open access LC/MS and NMR, physicochemical assays (e.g., solubility, logD, pKa). The ideal candidate will have experience in Compound Management and will work with a state-of-the art compound management system for the storage of newly synthesized compounds and for the rapid distribution of requested compounds..

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform purification and analysis of small molecule compound libraries
  • Conduct custom purification of starting materials, intermediates, and final products
  • Perform Compound Management tasks like sample preparation, fulfilling ad-hoc requests at times of high demand, sample reformatting (historical & purchased samples)
  • Closely interact with the automation, screening, analytical chemistry and IT groups to ensure an efficiently run operation
  • Help manage open access analytical instrumentation (LC/MS, NMR, HPLC)
  • Develop and implement new analytical technologies and techniques
  • Provide instrument maintenance, trouble-shooting, and data management
  • Interact collaboratively with chemistry and biology colleagues
  • Maintain high standards of laboratory safety, comply with the H3 safety manual and complete required training courses.
  • Perform research in compliance with all applicable regulatory and H3 guidelines.

Job Qualifications:

  • BS/MS in Chemistry with 3-5 years experience, and in-depth knowledge about modern purification principles and technologies.
  • Hands-on experience with LC/MS and mass-directed purification systems.
  • Knowledge with liquid handling workstations, automation, and programming highly desirable.
  • Attention to details and demonstrated ability of managing multiple tasks.
  • Must be able to communicate and collaborate in a team driven environment.
