The person in this position will be responsible for design, development and overseeing the implementation of Bioanalytical assays (PK, Immunogenicity and Biomarker assays) in support of early and late stage Development Program in the BiogenIdec pipeline.

Responsibilities will include the development, qualification/validation of appropriate assays to detect protein therapeutics, immune response to such therapeutics, and biomarker assays in support of Preclinical and clinical studies in accordance with current guidelines and industry standards for such assays. Supervise and provide mentorship to direct reports involved in the development of such assays.

Present data in a variety of team settings, prepare technical & regulatory documents, and work within cross-functional project teams. May interact with contract research organizations and/or internal GLP lab to transfer the assays developed and oversee study support. This position involves working concurrently on multiple projects in a fast paced environment.

Successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in the Bioanalytical area, an interest and aptitude in learning new technologies, pays attention to detail, be flexible and have strong work ethics to meet demanding timelines and have excellent written and verbal communications skills.

Qualifications:
A Ph.D. in cell biology/molecular biology/immunology with 5-7 years of industry experience in a related field is required. Experience in immunoassay development, cell based assay development using a variety of technologies such as ELISA, Biacore, flow cytometry, reporter gene assays, statistical analysis of data is required. Familiarity with PK/PD concepts, and experience in supporting pre-clinical and clinical studies, interaction with pharmacokinetics scientists, toxicologists, clinicians and with regulatory authorities is desirable. Familiarity with GLP compliance procedures and guidelines is a must.
