The position is responsible for managing information assets used by medical affairs personnel to provide narrowly tailored and scientifically balanced medical information on products to external (physicians, pharmacists, nurses, and other health care professionals) and internal customers (Biogen Idec staff).

Responsibilities include coordination of content creation work-streams from within medical affairs, including US functions and international affiliates as well as serving as primary liaison with other groups involved in content development efforts outside of medical affairs, including regulatory, drug safety and other commercial functions; assistance/maintenance of the Siebel CRM database and FAQ archive, including coordination and alignment of TPs and Q&As from sales, marketing, public relations and investor relations; and maintenance of these information assets into a centralized library of all product -related content that can be utilized by the entire global medical affairs organization.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
• Serve as operational lead for tracking and managing medical information resources
• Formatting new content according to approved GMA templates and updating existing content when changes to templates or PI information mandates
• Coding key meta-data for newly developed content
• Data entry of new/updated content and descriptive fields into centralized GMA library in eRoom
• Manage written product response database for Biogen Idec late stage and marketed products (ie, Documentum)
• Coordinate or assist in Medical Affairs Scientific Meeting booths, schedules, materials, and guidelines to ensure availability, accuracy and alignment of key product information to external HCPs
• Surveillance of 3rd party, public sources of information on products for inclusion/use in medical information resources (SRs, website)

B. Additional Functions:
• Assist departmental software System Administrator of the following:
-Maintaining documents within the Medical Information software (ie, Siebel).
-Maintaining Medical Information Websites (eg, intranet and internet).
-Training new users.
• Assist or act as liaison with corporate partners for Medical Information needs on shared product.
-Manage or assist in product publication strategies and review process.
-Attend/Participate in relevant Investigator or Scientific Meetings.
-Coordinate communication between companies.
• Oversee/manage additional departmental projects as necessary.

Qualifications:
• Computer skills and experience in Microsoft Office Suite software, Endnotes software, and web-based inquiry database.
• Medical writing and editing capabilities.
• Knowledge of the Medical terminology.
• Pharmaceutical industry experience.
• Organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently.
• Presentation skills.
• Neurology or immunology experience preferred.
