Project Accountant
Key Job Responsibilities:
Project Accounting:
Responsible for the accurate and timely entering of new projects this includes the interpretation and conversion of proposals into an Oracle format, drafting a cost and revenue budget and getting agreement
Responsible for revenue recognition (percentage complete, entering events and time and labor) on projects), and reconciling in revenue to the general ledger on a monthly basis.
Responsible for raising sales invoices and credit notes in a timely manner, reconciling to the accounts receivable ledger and General Ledger, checking proposal and answering customer queries.
Maintain stability project data, liaison with the QC stability team lead to ensure revenue is recognized in the time points and invoices are sent out when due.
Review actual performance on projects versus costed and explain variances. Report information to project managers and project teams.
Production Management
Maintain the standard costs
Run the weekly and monthly OPM processes, review the output to check for major variances and post transactions to the general ledger. Resolve monthly UOM / order and receiving issues / and recipe issues that arise with supply chain and production.
Prepare the monthly inventory sheet
Reconcile OPM to the general ledger at month end.
Forecast raw material usage for the budget and monthly updates.
Create and maintain reports,
Test Oracle system upgrades and train on new functionality.
Recommend new functionalities and upgrades of the financial modules and implement changes.
Assist with Accounts Payable as needed
Accounting for Peachtree companies includes: journal entries, invoices and checks, monthly reconciliations, and monthly “Hyperion format” reporting to Head Office.
Review and resolve missing or incorrect timecards for.
Update department Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s),, calculate the management accounts
Support the Finance team on ad hoc business projects.
Job Knowledge Required:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance and 3+ years work related experience or 5 + years related work experience.
Understanding of project standard costing and costing in a manufacturing environment and inventory control.
Knowledge of Oracle software or similar ERP system, preferably with 1 year experience working with Oracle Projects and Oracle Production Management.
Position requires proficiency with financial programs and Excel
