Workforce Training Fund Express Grants Available!
This is your money – make the most of it!
Workforce Training Fund Grants are financed by Massachusetts employers through a surcharge on the Unemployment Insurance tax. The grants help Massachusetts businesses train current and newly hired employees. If you company pays unemployment taxes, it is eligible to participate in the program.
The Express Program will provide 50% reimbursement to those companies with 50 or fewer employees, up to $3,000 per employee, per course with a maximum of $15,000 per year. For smaller companies looking for some in-depth training, this is the program for you!
Cheryl Scott, the new Director of the Workforce Training Fund indicated they have streamlined the process and plan to honor a 30-day turnaround time for applicants, and have added course codes for you to include in the online application. They are as follows:

There are some 250 MassBio members who would benefit from the Express Training Grants Fund, and by doing so could receive significant savings over the $150 members discount. For companies with 50 or fewer employees, this program presents a unique opportunity to obtain 50% reimbursement in addition to the members savings discount on the cost of MassBioEd Foundation courses.

A certificate of good standing must also be obtained by the Department of Revenue to show the company is current with tax compliance.

MassBio and MassBio Education Foundation cannot guarantee approval through the Workforce Training Fund Express Program. Companies are only eligible to receive $30,000 within a 24-month period. To process reimbursement, employees must simply submit a copy of the invoice, proof of payment, and an evaluation of the course. Government employees are not eligible for discounts.
