Encuentros 2013 Conference, “Inspiring Innovation”

Thursday, June 27 – Saturday, June 29 2013

Location: MIT Media Lab, Cambridge, MA

Encuentros is the largest meeting of Chilean students, researchers, and entrepreneurs abroad that come from a wide range of disciplines and reside in many different parts of the world. The word Encuentros means "to connect." We will explore the trajectory of innovation, starting with a city tour to travel from the past to the future of innovation in Cambridge. The panels are designed to understand innovation as an arc that spans the origen of ideas, our artistic nature, bioinnovation, meaningful development and Big Data. We will be featuring three selected entrepreneurial ideas in a business competition and will host a talent fair where companies can have access to the Encuentros attendees. We will share stories of Chilean innovators including the singer Francisca Valenzuela. Finally, a traditional Lobster/Clam Bake will take place at the MIT sailing pavilion by the Charles River followed by a  Chilean party at the Media lab.
