Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) offers unique learning experience with John Rozembersky.
Through participation in this 4-day comprehensive workshop, learn the fundamental principles and optimum applied techniques for Depth Flow Filtration (DFF) and Tangential Flow Filtration (TFF). This program is geared towards individuals working in the biopharm downstream purification process.
Participate in the 1-day lecture that is designed to help you gain a solid understanding of the parameters and factors that affect membrane performance and product recovery for both cell clarification and UF/DF. Topics include polymeric membrane and matrix media technologies. These key topics will help define and identify current issues related to performance, scale up, optimization, cleaning (CIP), and methods development. This is pre-requisite for the 3 day laboratory training.
For hands-on knowledge, participate in the 3-day Laboratory Workshop after completing the lecture portion. You will learn how to apply the principles presented in lecture utilizing case studies, to include:
- cell clarification by DFF
- cell clarification by TFF
- concentration & diafiltration (UF/DF)
Small teams will perform actual matrix-designed characterization studies to develop and compare performance on products from different manufactures using current state-of-the-art bench-top filtration systems.
