Pepper Hamilton Life Sciences Speaker Series- Privacy and Data Security for Life Sciences Companies

Wednesday, October 23 2013
8:00 am – 9:30 am

Location: Boston Marriott Cambridge Two Cambridge Center, 50 Broadway Cambridge, Massachusetts 02142

The explosion of mobile technology and web applications linking patients with doctors, pharmacies and medical devices is undergoing scrutiny by the FDA, FTC, HHS and other regulatory agencies. Mobile applications to regulate disease states such as diabetes, sensor technology for dementia, patient monitors and quality controls are all subject to cyber security threats and breaches of patient data. These vulnerabilities expose life science companies to enforcement actions and fines/penalties.

During this session, Pepper attorneys Sharon R. Klein and Dayna Nicholson will:

  • Explore the regulatory framework for m-health
  • Review the FDA's recent cyber security guidance
  • Provide practical steps which will reduce exposure to life science companies for such privacy/security incidents

There is no fee to attend this seminar.
