Airgas Safety Training: General Cylinder Handling

Airgas, MassBio's Primary Supplier for Packaged Cylinder Gases, is hosting a free safety training for MassBio members who currently use compressed gases and cryogens at their facilities.
The training will cover all aspects of safe handling, transportation and proper hook up of cylinders in the labs. The training will be broken down by category of DOT hazard classifications including:
- Non-flammable gas hazard properties and hazard prevention
- Flammable gas hazards and prevention
- Oxidizers hazards and prevention
- Inhalation hazards and prevention
- Corrosives hazards and prevention
- Cryogens hazards and prevention
The training will also cover the Fire Triangle, Fuels, Oxygen enrichment and deficiency, Cylinder Labels and their importance when identifying the cylinder contents and not rely on color of the cylinder. Airgas' Safety Director will cover general cylinder handling and storage as well as Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as gloves, safety glasses/ face-shields play an integral part in maintaining a safe workplace.
There will be a Q & A session and quick quiz at the end of the presentation. All participants will be provided with a Certificate of Completion at the conclusion of the seminar.
