Overview : Your Biostatistician is your friend – Really!

The purpose of this math-free presentation is to show how statistical concepts (and statisticians) are integral to the clinical development process. From Protocol to Case Report Form (CRF) to Statistical Analysis Plan (SAP) to Final Study Report, your friendly neighborhood statistician is a valuable resource in the design and execution of a successful clinical development plan.

We will talk about what kinds of questions statistics can help answer in the different stages of a clinical study such as:

Study design: How many patients? Which assessments? How often?
Data collection: How do we ask the question to get the information we need?
Analysis: What does the study information tell us?
Reporting: How can we best communicate the analysis results?

We will also look at the major study documents such as the protocol, CRFs, SAP, and study report, and see examples of how decisions made on each of these documents directly impacts the study results.
