Antiangiogenesis: New Frontiers in Therapeutic Development

Mon, October 13 – October 14

The Angiogenesis Foundation, the world's leading third party organization focused on advancing the angiogenesis field, is convening its 6th Annual International Conference, Antiangiogenesis: New Frontiers in Therapeutic Development, on October 13-14, 2008. There will be a pre-conference symposium on October 12, 2008 focusing on antiangiogenesis in skin disorders. This annual event has been named The M. Judah Folkman Conference in memory of the late Dr. Judah Folkman, who served as a conference advisor and on its faculty.

This conference brings the latest translational knowledge about antiangiogenesis into focus for clinicians, researchers, and drug development specialists. Antiangiogenic therapies have come of age, with numerous agents approved since 2004, and now in mainstream clinical use. Another 130 agents employing an array of novel targeting strategies are presently in clinical development, with new disease indications. Simultaneously, new scientific knowledge continues to emerge on the pharmacology and mechanisms of pathological angiogenesis, driving improvements upon current strategies and outcomes, especially for cancer management.

The Angiogenesis Foundation independently evaluates this evolving landscape and develops the annual Antiangiogenesis Conference to highlight critical new therapeutic strategies and clinical data, presented by world experts in the field. This high level conference provides unparalleled insights about the needs, challenges, and driving forces for decision makers involved in the antiangiogenesis field. Reflecting the growing number of key stakeholders, the 5th Annual Conference experienced a 46% growth in attendance over the previous years. For an agenda of the event, click here.
