Topic Overview

The Project Management Committee is pleased to invite you to a presentation on the "Role of Effective Planning in Project Success: Clinical Trial Start-up as a Case Study".

The presenters will use the "3 Ps": Protocol Design, Proper Site Selection and Planning Ahead as a model for successful clinical trial start-up and project success. Within this context many project management concepts will be highlighted and discussed, from resource procurement to lessons learned.

Invited Speakers

Audrey Rossow, Clinical Research Consultant
Ms. Rossow has over 18 years' experience working in Clinical Research, with the last 2 as an Independent Consultant. She has worked on all phase studies, primarily in the US, with some experience in Canada, Iceland, and Western Europe. Her experience has spanned the full duration of studies, from start-up to project close-out and lessons learned. She has been a CRA, Data Manager and Project Manager. Her public speaking also includes presentations on site support and communication to enhance patient recruitment and retention, as well as rapid study start-up.

Bruce K. Gould, Acurian, Inc.
Mr. Gould brings to Acurian more than 15 years of experience in the health services and clinical trials industry. He previously was the Vice President of Site Services with Comprehensive NeuroScience, Inc. (a large SMO). Bruce spent six years with CNS (formerly ICSL Clinical Studies) and was responsible for all site support functions including budgets and contract administration, regulatory affairs, marketing, patient recruitment and advertising. Prior to joining CNS, Bruce held management positions in HealthCare Services and Pharmacy Operations at CVS Pharmacy. Bruce has a B.S. degree from Bryant College, and an MBA in International Business from Johnson & Wales University.
