BioWin is the Health competitiveness cluster of Wallonia, the region to the south of Brussels in Belgium. BioWin is the acronym of BIOtechnologies Wallonie INnovation.
The members of BioWin are active in the main healthcare biotechnology sectors, namely: (bio)pharmacy, cell therapy, radiopharmacy, diagnostics, biotech products, services (CRO, CMO), medical devices and equipment.
The mission of BioWin is to bring together stakeholders participating in innovative projects and/or education in the fields of health biotechnology and medical technologies.
BioWin’s vocation is to help its members to become international players. Products and services in the field of healthcare are in fact by their very nature destined for a global market. In order to achieve economic success in the field of healthcare the ability to innovate must therefore be accompanied by the capacity to access international markets. The competitiveness cluster complements the services of AWEX, the Walloon agency for exports and foreign investments, by building bridges between Wallonia and other regions in Europe and the world that are innovating in the field of Healthcare.
AWEX has six offices in the US (Atlanta, Chicago, Houston, New York, San Francisco and Washington DC.
