Modular Genetics, Inc. (Modular) is a privately-held biotechnology company based on a proprietary, automated genetic engineering technology called CombiGenix(TM), a universal system for designing and creating large sets of engineered genes. By linking CombiGenix(TM) to expression systems, bioinformatics tools, and functional assays, Modular has developed a high-throughput platform that accelerates two critical discovery activities. First, the company is using the platform in the rapid evolution of proteins with novel or enhanced function, both as biocatalytic enzymes and as biotherapeutics.
