The Consulate of Switzerland known as the Swiss House for Advanced Research and Education is a novel and unique private/public partnership creating a hybrid between an official representation and an entrepreneurial organization comparable to a consulting company. Supported by more than 25 private sponsors and the Swiss government, a team of seven people aims to foster closer links between the Greater Boston Area and Switzerland in the fields of research, education and high-tech. In addition to hosting more than 60 events every year, SHARE triggers and facilitates collaborative projects through workshops, videoconferences, delegation and personal visits. They attract leading scientists, entrepreneurs, business executives and other decision-makers. In the life sciences, SHARE offers - assistance to US groups interested in identifying Swiss partners and or establishing a business - organization of international workshops (ex. Bioinformatics), conferences, etc. facilitation of contacts, exchange and collaboration between Universities and companies in Switzerland and New England
