U.S. Genomics was founded in 1997 and is located in Woburn Massachusetts. The company currently employs a multi-disciplinary team working on an advanced product development program for the U.S. Dept. of Homeland Security. The company’s proprietary technology for identification of DNA offers a unique advantage for threat detection with high sensitivity and specificity. U.S. Genomics has been awarded a Phase IIIX contract by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security S&T (Science and Technology Directorate) to continue development of the Company's sophisticated biological sensor for biodefense applications. Under this program the company will complete technology and prototype development of its system for the detection and identification of airborne pathogens using its DNA mapping technology. The contract award follows the successful completion of several phases of multimillion BAND contract.
