June 18, 2012

Directory includes information from 1,000+ life sciences companies

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (June 18, 2012) – This year’s Complete Guide to the Life Sciences in New England, listing more than 1,000 biotechnology & life sciences companies throughout the region, was released today at the 2012 BIO International Convention, the Massachusetts Biotechnology Council (MassBio) announced.

The Complete Guide to the New England Life Sciences Industry was first compiled in 2011 and this year’s edition, even more comprehensive, expands on the first. The Complete Guide was developed in partnership with Mass High Tech, to promote the scope of the industry in New England, and highlight the world class organizations doing business here.

“As the host state for the 2012 BIO International Convention, welcoming more than 15,000 industry leaders to Massachusetts, we have an opportunity to tell the story of the Commonwealth’s and the region’s success in the life sciences,” Robert K. Coughlin, President & CEO of MassBio said. “By highlighting our innovative companies across the drug development pipeline, our world-class academic institutions, our support government partners and the patients whose lives we aim to improve, the Massachusetts Pavilion will be a hub of activity and connection throughout the convention. Visitors will leave our Booth with The Complete Guide to the New England Life Sciences Industry, a guidebook to what they’ve seen at BIO and a critical tool for future business.”

The directory provides contact information and company descriptions from more than 1,000 biotechnology and life sciences organizations as well as MassBio’s associate members, including service suppliers and non-profit organizations that support the region’s biotechnology cluster. Company categories include agricultural/industrial biotechnology, bioinformatics, contract research & manufacturing, drug development, human diagnostic development, medical device, and research products & instrumentation.

The Complete Guide to the New England Life Sciences Industry will be available at the welcome desk of the Massachusetts Pavilion (#0137) at the 2012 BIO International Convention in Boston, MA, which runs today, June 18, through June 21 at Boston Convention & Exhibition Center.

Following BIO, a copy of the directory will be mailed to every MassBio member organization. Additional copies or copies for non-members are available for purchase. The directory can also be purchased in an electronic format (Excel). To order, email
