Stericycle Adds SteriSafe for MassBio Members
Purchasing Consortium Supplier for biomedical waste management extends contract and enhances offerings
August 9, 2012 (CAMBRIDGE, MA) — MassBio is pleased to announce that Stericycle, MassBio’s primary supplier for biomedical waste management services, will add even more value for MassBio members by including the SteriSafe compliance program and additional trainings under the renewed agreement between Stericycle and MassBio.
Stericycle provides MassBio members a safe, cost effective, and reliable biological waste disposal service. Stericycle has the largest biological waste disposal infrastructure nationally and serves thousands of customers each year.
“Stericycle has been a trusted partner for 20 years and has always demonstrated a long-term commitment to our industry. Our members asked for the SteriSafe program and now they can access it while still benefitting from Stericycle’s exceptional pricing and service for MassBio members,” said President & CEO Robert K. Coughlin.
The Stericycle agreement has been renewed effective July 1, 2012 expiring June 30, 2014. The new agreement offers MassBio members:
- An average of up to 25% off list prices for Stericycle's biomedical waste management services
- Flat rates for energy and fuel charges
- SteriSafe compliance programs at 25% off (Preferred, Select, or Standard)
- Regulatory updates as they occur
- Non-hazardous non-RCRA pharmaceutical waste disposal
- Monthly automated waste tracking reports
- Large Generator Rebates for generators over $75,000 per year
- Stericycle's US DOT Hazmat Training
Under the new agreement, Stericycle will now offer MassBio members their US DOT Training via Webex on a quarterly basis at no charge, saving an average of $500 per person. Webex training will allow more members to benefit from this free training and will appeal to members outside of the Cambridge area. Webex DOT Training will be offered from 10am-12pm on August 16, 2012, November 14, 2012, February 13, 2013, and May 14, 2013. MassBio members must register through the MassBio website.
This contract expansion and renewal comes shortly after Stericycle joined MassBio’s Small Business Program. Under that program, Stericycle provides pricing and products needed to set up a lab for medical waste to small MassBio member companies at an average savings of 35%.
