BioPharm America™ 2014 returns to Boston’s Copley Place and a celebration of the FierceBiotech Fierce 15
Washington, DC; Carlsbad, CA and Boston, MA – April 15, 2014: The seventh annual BioPharm America™ international life science partnering conference will be held at Boston Marriott Copley Place in the center of Boston’s historic Back Bay. Produced by EBD Group in collaboration with the Massachusetts Biotechnology Council (MassBio), the September 22–24 event will bring the global life science industry to Boston to facilitate strategic collaborations with leading companies.
Pharmaceutical companies typically send teams of senior executives to meet with potential partners from biotech companies, academic institutions and service providers. AstraZeneca, Bayer HealthCare, Bristol Myers Squibb, EMD Serono, Novo Nordisk, and Shire are just a few large drug developers set to attend.
“BioPharm America is our largest North American life science partnering event, well-known for its reputable one-to-one partnering formula,” said Florian Schoenhammer, Group Managing Director of EBD Group. “Not only does it tap into the incredible amount of biotech innovation in Boston, as recognized by global pharmaceutical companies and investors, but the event is a catalyst for early stage dealmaking that is the mainstay of the drug development industry.”
“We are proud to host BioPharm America again in Boston,” said Robert Coughlin, President and CEO of MassBio. “This is a high caliber event that capitalizes on the full range of industry innovation available in Boston. And there is a wide range of partners who attend, from small start-ups to mid-size biotech companies, service providers and international pharma. Companies can tie up their partnering strategies for the year in just a couple days. There is no other industry gathering quite like it.”
BioPharm America 2014 will again celebrate the announcement of the annual FierceBiotech Fierce 15. The Fierce 15 is a hunt that involves the biggest ideas in biotech, the most daring characters in biopharma, and entrepreneurs doing things that haven’t been done before. The result is fifteen privately held drug developers or platform biotechs with the potential to have a huge impact on the treatment of human diseases. John Carroll, Editor-in-Chief of FierceBiotech, will announce the winners at the event and will lead a panel with several Fierce 15 CEOs to discuss the industry outlook going into the fourth quarter 2014.
More than 900 delegates representing 550 companies from 35 countries participated in BioPharm America 2013. Delegates in 2013 engaged in 2,950 one-to-one partnering meetings and identified 757 potential licensing opportunities.
Register before July 18, 2014 to save USD 200. MassBio members receive an additional USD 200 discount by adding the code ‘MassBio’ in the comments field of the online registration form.
