New sales & marketing regulations take effect

Massachusetts' new sales & marketing regulations took effect, July 1, 2009.
Under the regulations, Pharmaceutical or Medical Device Manufacturing Companies (PMDMCs) must track and report expenditures related to sales & marketing activities.
Today is the deadline for companies who fall under the purview of the statute to:
The regulations stipulate that companies report sales & marketing activities taking place between July 1, 2009 and December 31, 2009 by July 1, 2010.

- Certify compliance with a Code of Conduct
- Submit information requested in Section 970.005 of the regulations (name of compliance officer, investigation policies, etc.)
- Submit an annual fee of $2,000
The regulations stipulate that companies report sales & marketing activities taking place between July 1, 2009 and December 31, 2009 by July 1, 2010.
