Sunstein Announces New Life Sciences Patent Partner
Boston– July 11, 2011 - Sunstein Kann Murphy & Timbers LLP, a leading intellectual property law firm based inBoston, today announced that Nancy Chiu Wilker, Ph.D. has joined the firm as a partner and member of its Life Sciences Practice Group.
Dr. Wilker focuses on patent and trademark prosecution, trade secret protection, product clearance, due diligence, and agreements involving transfer of intellectual property in the life sciences area. She has prosecuted numerous patents in a variety of biotech areas including transgenic plants and animals, cancer biomarkers, stem cells, new genes, vaccines, antibodies, biological and small molecule chemical therapeutics, and nucleic acid and protein detection and analysis technologies. She has managed extensive portfolios ofU.S.and foreign patent properties.
Dr. Wilker received her Ph.D. in immunology from HarvardUniversityand a B.S. in both biology and biochemistry from ColoradoStateUniversity. She received her J.D. magna cum laude fromSuffolkUniversityLawSchool. Prior to joining Sunstein, Dr. Wilker served as the Chief Intellectual Property Counsel of a privately held international research reagent company, as Intellectual Property Counsel at an S&P 500 global company, and as a patent attorney at a general practice international law firm.
