Regenesance Receives Innovation Credit from Dutch Government

October 14, 2011

Cambridge, MA- The Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs and Innovation (Agentschap, NL) awarded a substantial credit to Regenesance for the development of new compounds to treat Multiple Sclerosis (MS).  The credit will provide up to 35% of the costs of advancing a lead compound through clinical phase IIA.  Assuming the Company meets all milestones, total support could approach $5 million under the credit.

“We are honored and excited to receive this important funding from the Dutch government” said Regenesance CEO Robert L. Buchanan.  “Multiple Sclerosis is a chronic neurodegenerative disease with no cure.  The credit will help us move a new treatment option for MS patients towards the clinic”

Regenesance Inc- is a 2009 spin-out of the Academic Medical Center (AMC) of the University of Amsterdam, the Netherlands.  The Company has offices in Amsterdam and Cambridge.  Regenesance is dedicated to treating serious neurodegenerative diseases and acute nerve trauma by blocking only the last step of complement activation (formation of the membrane attack complex).  For more information, see www.regenesance.com.
