State initiative sponsors free health and safety training to local businesses

Mabbett & Associates, Inc. has been awarded a grant by the MA Dept. of Industrial Accidents to conduct a series of free health & safety trainings on behalf of the state. MA DIA has asked Mabbett to schedule and conduct a series of 4 to 8 hour HAZWOPER – First Responder Operations Level (FROL/FRAL) or hazardous materials management trainings for local employers. These trainings will cover the following topics: how to identify a hazardous materials release; how to evaluate safety concerns associated with a release; and how to initiate defensive spill response measures. Mabbett will work with participants to incorporate site specific information into each training session to tailor the training to site specific needs. Any facility that stores hazardous materials in bulk quantities – more than 50 gallons - should have staff members trained to identify and manage releases that may occur at their facility. The trainings are free and open to all Massachusetts employers.

Mabbett is currently in the process of identifying and recruiting facilities and personnel who would like to participate in this program. There are no costs to participate. This is a state funded training initiative.
