Northeastern University’s Barnett Institute Publishes Its 1,000th Paper

December 20, 2011

The Barnett Institute of Chemical and Biological Analysis at Northeastern University is proud to announce the publishing of its 1000th paper.

It has been the tradition of the Institute since its establishment in 1973 to number the research papers accepted for publication in scientific journals and magazines. Many of these publications are widely cited and have significant impact.

The Institute’s director, Dr. Barry Karger, said the milestone would not have been possible without the efforts of the Barnett faculty and staff over the years.

“The 1000 papers are a demonstration of the productivity and reputation of the Barnett Institute,” said Dr. Karger. “I want to thank all who have made it possible.”

During its 37-year history, the Barnett Institute of Chemical and Biological Analysis has pioneered breakthroughs in forensic science, the Human Genome Project, the clinical sciences, and biotechnology.
