Treasurer Steven Grossman, Senator Eileen Donoghue join in on the celebration

Pepperell, MA - Masy Systems, Inc., headquartered in Pepperell, MA, held an official Groundbreaking Celebration on Tuesday, July 17 to officially begin work on a new 6,200 cu. ft. -75°C Storage Facility. The new storage space is needed to meet customer demands in response to the success of a 1,000 cu. ft. -75°C Storage Facility that Masy opened just over two years ago.

The planned opening of the new -75°C Storage Facility is scheduled for late fall of 2012. Bahnson Environmental Specialties of Raleigh, NC will build this facility similar to the 1,000 cu. ft. space that they built for Masy previously. It will be the largest -75°C space that Bahnson has ever built.

The financing of the cold space as well as the building this new endeavor will be housed was all made possible with the help of a number of groups, all that were in attendance at the celebration. State Treasurer Steven Grossman said, "Through our Small Business Banking Partnership we are seeing innovative companies like Masy Systems put their entrepreneurial spirit to work and expand their business.”

Walter Dwyer, Chief Operating Officer of North Middlesex Savings Bank (NMSB) headquartered in Ayer, spoke following the Treasurer at the event. NMSB played a major role in the recent expansion of Masy Systems and has provided financing to Masy since 1999.

“We are excited to partner with the State Treasurer and North Middlesex Savings Bank to finance our growth,” said Laurie Masiello, Masy Systems' President. “In addition to real estate expansion and job growth, their support has enabled our company to add equipment for our biorepository and invest in wireless sensors for our validation and rental business.”

Other representatives that attended and spoke at the event were State Senator Eileen Donoghue, VP of Membership at Massachusetts Biotechnology Council Lauren Laidlaw and Executive Director of Nashoba Valley Chamber of Commerce Melissa Fetterhoff. State Representative Sheila Harrington was unable to attend due to a house session. Eileen presented a citation from the House of Representatives on her behalf.

“I think it is no secret that Treasurer Grossman’s Small Business Banking Partnership program has been a major success,” said Senator Eileen Donoghue (D-Lowell). “I’m grateful that the Treasurer has taken such an active role in this initiative and I’m glad that North Middlesex Savings Bank opted to participate. The success of our small businesses, such as Masy Systems, is something that benefits all of us and I’m happy to be here as we celebrate their expansion and success today.”

Event attendees participated in a tour of the calibration laboratory and existing storage areas.

Masy provides validation services for sterilizers, chambers and warehouses for numerous clients in North America. The company is NVLAP accredited to ISO 17025 for calibration services, and ISO 9001 certified.
