Nuclea Biotechnologies, Inc. today announced that the Company has closed its first Series C funding round, raising an additional $5 million.  The new funds will be used to support Nuclea’s continued regulatory efforts in the development of its Fatty Acid Synthase (FAS) Assays, including clinical trials and new hires.

Nuclea has now raised $35.9 million since it began operations in 2005. The Pittsfield-based company is focused on the development, clinical validation and commercialization of novel diagnostic assays. Nuclea is currently in the process of commercial development and regulatory approvals for its new franchise of diagnostic and monitoring tests based on FAS.
