Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association (HBA) Boston is pleased to announce active support from many local healthcare companies for its upcoming panel discussion on the impact of healthcare reform on innovation. The event will be held on Thursday, September 13, 2012, 5:30 – 9:00 pm at the Langham Hotel, 250 Franklin Street, Boston.

Local sponsors supporting the Forum represent a cross-section of companies and services in Boston's healthcare market:

“We’re so pleased to see the enthusiastic support of key local healthcare businesses for the HBA and this important forum.  Their sponsorship of this key event speaks to their recognition of the impact healthcare reform is having nationally and how its impact is driving innovation locally. Those attending will no doubt walk out with heightened awareness of changes being driven right here in Boston in all healthcare sectors and the impact of reform on their roles and their companies,” stated Keri Collette, President of the HBA Boston chapter.

A panel of local healthcare business leaders will discuss how reform and regulation are driving and inhibiting innovation across the spectrum of healthcare businesses in Boston. As with the sponsors, the panel of speakers represents a cross-section of Boston’s healthcare market. Martha Bebinger, WBUR healthcare reporter, will moderate the panel of distinguished speakers including:

  • Justine Carr, MD, chief medical officer at Steward Health Care System
  • Naomi Fried, PhD, chief innovation officer at Children’s Hospital
  • Nancy Gagliano, MD, chief medical officer at CVS Minute Clinics
  • Tamima Itani, PhD, vice president of global regulatory affairs and regulatory compliance at Boston Scientific

  • Samantha Singer, vice president of corporate strategy and portfolio management at Biogen Idec

The Healthcare Forum is an opportunity to bring the many segments together for creative discussion in this time of change.  Attendees will have an opportunity to interact and network with panelists as well as each other.
