Biodirect Receives Veteran Business Status, Announces LabSquad Service Business
November 29, 2012 - Biodirect Inc., a privately held company located in Taunton, MA today announced it has been informed by the US Department of Veterans Affairs that they have been officially designated as a Veteran Owned Business. The company which is celebrating it’s tenth year of operation, provides certified pre-owned lab instruments and is also a recognized Minority Owned Business Enterprise by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. “We are most appreciative of this notification by the Department of Veteran Affairs, and are grateful to our Founder and CEO, Rich Tula for his service to our country”, said Kevin Keras, Chief Operating Officer and General Manager.
Biodirect has also launched a new division called The LabSquad (www.TheLabSquad.com), which provides planned and corrective maintenance services on a wide variety of plate based lab instruments. As budgets are stretched across all segments of the life sciences industry, many labs are actively searching ways to stretch every dollar. Whether an organization decides to self-maintain or contract a third party to oversee asset operation, many are finding traditional manufacturer (OEM) instruments service contracts to be a financial burden. Says Keras, “With over ten years of refurbishment experience on hundreds of instruments from numerous vendors, The LabSquad is well positioned to provide valuable cross vendor services for pharma, biotech, academic and government research labs.” He adds, “The LabSquad works directly with many labs and also provides sub-contractor support to larger companies in cooperation with any of the larger Multi-Vendor Services (MVS) providers resulting in a more cost-effective and time savings alternative.” The LabSquad specializes in all major brands of liquid handlers as well as plate readers, washers, centrifuges…and more.
In preparation for the SLAS conference in January, Biodirect also announced a new web site dedicated to refurbished liquid handlers (www.UsedLiquidHandlers.com). Angling to become the “go-to” source for anyone looking to save money when buying a liquid handler, this web site offers like-new, rigorously refurbished instruments that are certified to perform to manufacturers specifications and come with industry leading warranties and post-sales support.
