“Coming together as the Cambridge life sciences community in response to the tragedy of the Boston Marathon is a special and meaningful experience, and Genzyme is proud to host the event,” said Jessica Colund of Genzyme.  “I am grateful to the participants, to Brooke Bonet from Ironwood Pharmaceuticals who helped organize the event, and to the Cambridge Police for their service to our city and their attendance at the run.”

The event began with a short ceremony at Genzyme headquarters in Cambridge where participants gathered to hear words of thanks and encouragement from a runner who participated in this year’s Boston Marathon, as well as from Robert K. Coughlin, President and CEO of the Massachusetts Biotechnology Council, and Commissioner Robert C. Haas of the Cambridge Police Department.
