imaGenes Appointed as BioTrove OpenArray® Service Provider

September 17, 2009

First service provider outside the U.S. will pave the way for European market

Berlin and Woburn - The Berlin-based integrated genomics services specialist imaGenes will complement its offerings with BioTrove's OpenArray(R) Platform, a nanoliter Real-Time qPCR, allowing for about 9,000 assays simultaneously.

The high throughput OpenArray(R) platform delivers superior performance to comparative qPCR systems in a much easier to use format. OpenArray(R) produces more results faster, allowing gene expression profiling, microRNA profiling analyses and biomarker studies to be completed in days instead of weeks and at a much lower price. OpenArray(R) technology utilizes nanoliter fluidics enabling one person to generate over 27,000 assays per day.

OpenArray(R) offers six logs of sensi¬tivity in a miniaturized customizable parallel array format with excellent corre¬lation to data from conventional large volume Real-Time PCR. There¬fore, this platform fills a huge gap for experiments where microarray data lack accuracy and next generation sequencing is not cost-efficient.

imaGenes is BioTrove's first OpenArray(R) Service Provider for Real-Time qPCR Analysis outside the U.S. "We chose imaGenes for their extensive experience in microarray and next generation sequencing services. A spirited company with a well established quality management is an ideal partner to convince customers of the benefits of BioTrove's OpenArray(R) platform" says Derek Potter, BioTrove's European Director.

OpenArray(R) supports both TaqMan(R) and SYBR(R) chemistries. As an alternative to customer-designed assays, ready-to-use OpenArray(R) Pathways gene panels are also offered and contain bench-validated real-time qPCR assays. They provide to researchers a comprehensive set of gene families to aid the study of cancer, cardiovascular disease, inflammatory disease and basic cellular systems. Each plate in the OpenArray(R) Pathways product family contains 600+ laboratory tested assays.
